Applications in Design Mode

The Application Designer allows users with Designer access to open an application—and its corresponding archive application, if applicable—in design mode to create new configurations or modify existing ones. Working in Reliance Designer is not restricted to the user's session timeout; therefore, close the designer pages once you are done with them so they can be unlocked for other designers.

Create a new application

This feature is only available with a developer toolkit license.

  1. Log into Reliance using a user with administrator access.
  2. Select All Applications from the waffle menu.
  3. Click on the + New Application action displayed on the header bar.
  4. Type the New Application Display Name in the Create New Application dialog, and click Create.

The new application designer opens.

Open an application in design mode

Reliance Engine and Administration Center will be disabled in design mode because they are core applications that you cannot configure. Other applications may have some disabled features and configurations, such as the Centralized Reporting and Alerts application, which allows you to change only the configurations below through the Application Setting and disables adding new configurations or editing the existing system configurations.

To open an application in design mode:

  1. Log in to Reliance using a user with designer access to the intended application.
  2. Click the Waffle icon to go to the All Applications page.
  3. Hover over the intended application card, which will display the Designer action.
  4. Click on the Designer action to open the application in designer mode in a new tab.

Open an archive application in design mode

The Archive toggle is displayed for users who have access to a designer mode of any application and its corresponding archive application. To open an application in design mode:

  1. Log in to Reliance using a user with designer access to the intended application.

  2. Click the Waffle icon to go to the All Applications page.
  3. Hover over the intended application card, which will display the Designer action.
  4. Click on the Designer action to open the application in designer mode in a new tab.
  5. Click on the Archive toggle.
